A dark period in our history!

Just a reminder before we post our interviews with survivors of Ireland's Industrial and Reformatory schools in 20th Century, - Artane, Goldenbridge, etc. - Magdalene Institutions and Industrial Schools being just different sides of the same coin.

Not strictly a Magdalene Institution, but served as the final stop for babies from Marianvale and other Magdalene Mother-and-Baby homes across the country before they were given out to their adoptive parents. And not exactly an orphanage! These were the babies of unmarried mothers, taken from them or given up for adoption because of the societal stigma and shame associated with pregnancy outside of marriage.

A magical, thought-provoking, unique meditation garden, where each of the numerous carvings symbolises a certain transition phase in life.
